Hillcrest
Southwest Airdrie, up on the rise, with mountain views from the right streets. Our median here is nineteen days, the quickest of any community we sell in. One listing took two hundred and eighty. Both numbers are on this page.
Why People Choose It
Up On The Rise, Looking West.
Hillcrest sits in southwest Airdrie on higher ground than most of the city, which is the reason a lot of people choose it. From the right streets you get mountain views, and from most of it a sense of openness the flatter communities cannot offer at any price.
Its streets carry the Hillcrest name: Drive, Road, Square, Gardens, Manor, Heights, Close, Green and Avenue. The stone entrance tower is the landmark.
The Housing Mix
A genuine range, which is unusual in one community. The homes we have sold here run from 1,190 square feet to 2,300: smaller attached product at one end, full family homes at the other.
The Views
Not every street has them, and that difference is priced in. If a mountain view is the reason you are buying here, be specific about which side of which street before you fall for a floor plan.
Green Space & Pathways
Pathways and green space run through the community and connect into the wider Airdrie network. The elevation makes for a better walk than most of the city.
The Commute
Southwest Airdrie, with straightforward access to 8th Street and the QEII. Roughly 20 minutes into Calgary on a clear run, CrossIron Mills and the airport on the way south.

Worth Knowing
Nineteen Days. And Two Hundred And Eighty.
Hillcrest has the fastest median of any community we sell in: nineteen days across the thirteen sales that went through the MLS®. Three of those went in under two weeks. If we wanted to sell you on this community, that is the only number we would print.
Here is the other one. In 2020, 197 Hillcrest Drive took two hundred and eighty days. That is the third longest listing in our entire record, out of more than five hundred homes.
Same community. Nineteen days is what usually happens. Two hundred and eighty is what can happen.
We publish both because the median alone would mislead you. A fast median means most homes here move quickly. It does not mean yours cannot be the one that sits, and any agent quoting you a community median without the range is showing you half a picture.
For a while we explained that range by the spread of housing here, and our own file does not support it. The five day sale was 181 Hillcrest Drive SW at 1,912 square feet. The two hundred and eighty day one was 197 Hillcrest Drive at 1,932 square feet. Same street, twenty square feet apart. The largest home we have sold here, at 2,300 square feet, went in nineteen days. The smallest, at 1,190, took twenty three.
What actually separated those two houses on Hillcrest Drive was ten months. 197 sold in August 2020. 181 sold in June 2021. Across our whole Airdrie record the median went from forty days in 2020 to fifteen in 2022, and eight of our thirteen Hillcrest sales landed in 2021 and 2022, none of them taking longer than thirty six days.
So nineteen days is not a fact about Hillcrest. It is four different markets averaged together.
Which makes the useful question about any comparable a different one than the one people ask. Not what it sold for, and not how fast. Which year it sold in. Our most recent Hillcrest sale is 2025, so none of the numbers on this page describe the community today. Ask us what it looks like now and we will tell you what we actually know.

Good To Know
Hillcrest Questions.
Where is Hillcrest in Airdrie?
Southwest Airdrie, on higher ground than most of the city, close to the 8th Street corridor. Its streets carry the Hillcrest name, Drive, Road, Square, Gardens, Manor, Heights, Close, Green and Avenue, and the stone entrance tower is the landmark most people picture.
How long do homes take to sell in Hillcrest?
Our median across the thirteen Hillcrest sales that went through the MLS® is nineteen days, the quickest of any community we sell in, with three going in under a fortnight. But the full range runs from five days to two hundred and eighty, and that longest one is the third longest listing in our entire record. What separates the two ends is mostly the year: the slowest sales here are from 2020, and eight of the thirteen sold in 2021 and 2022 at a fifteen day median. A fast median does not guarantee a fast sale, and a median averaged across six years is not a forecast.
Does Hillcrest have mountain views?
From some streets, yes. The elevation is the reason the community sits where it does. Not every home has them though, and the difference is priced in. If a view is why you are buying, be specific about which side of which street before you commit to a floor plan.
What kinds of homes are in Hillcrest?
A wider range than most Airdrie communities. The ones we have sold ran from 1,190 square feet to 2,300: smaller attached homes at one end and full family homes at the other. Size does not predict how fast one sells here though: the largest home we have sold in Hillcrest went in nineteen days and the smallest took twenty three.
How long is the commute from Hillcrest to Calgary?
Roughly 20 minutes down the QEII on a clear run, with peak hour adding to it. CrossIron Mills and the Calgary airport are both on the way south.
