Airdrie • Community Guide
Lanark Landing
Airdrie’s southeast corner, still being built. Melcor broke ground here in 2019 on a hundred and sixty acres, and the community will not be finished for years yet. That is the appeal and the catch, and both are on this page.
Why People Choose It
The Newest Corner Of Airdrie.
Lanark Landing sits in Airdrie’s southeast quadrant, next to Kings Heights and Ravenswood. It is the closest part of Airdrie to Calgary: ten minutes to the city limits on a clear run, which is the single reason a lot of buyers land here rather than further north.
Melcor Developments is behind it, and the name comes from Lanark in Scotland. The builder group was selected for a consistent look: prairie, farmhouse and brownstone styles with clean modern lines, held together by architectural controls.
The Housing Mix
Front attached and laned single family homes, duplexes and townhomes, from a builder group that includes Homes by Avi, Sterling, Jayman and McKee. A genuine range of price points in one community.
The Amenities
Airdrie’s first bike pump track is here, alongside an outdoor skating rink, a one acre park with playground and basketball court, a community garden, and pathways running out to the storm pond wetland.
Schools & Shopping
Rocky View Schools, with a K to 8 planned inside the community and existing Airdrie high schools in the meantime. Kingsview Market is the everyday shop, and Genesis Place is about five minutes north.
The Commute
Straight onto the QEII, with CrossIron Mills and the airport on the way south. A new interchange at 40th Avenue and Highway 2 is planned, which will change access here again.
On The Market
Lanark Landing Homes For Sale.
Live MLS® listings across Lanark Landing, updated throughout the day. Resale homes only. Builder inventory is sold separately and is not on the MLS®.
Worth Knowing
You Are Buying Into A Construction Site.
That is not a criticism. It is the honest description of a community with a ten year build out that started in 2019. Phases are still releasing. If you buy here now, some of what was in the marketing brochure does not exist yet, and some of your neighbours will be framing crews for a while.
Ask which phase your lot is in, and what is approved for the land behind you. Not what is planned. What is approved.
The other thing worth saying plainly: builder sales staff represent the builder. They are usually lovely and often very good at their job, and they are not working for you. You can bring your own REALTOR® into a new build, and it costs you nothing to do so, but you generally have to do it on your first visit, before you register with the show home.
If you are reselling here instead, the thing to understand is that you are competing with the builder next door, who can offer incentives you cannot. That changes how a resale needs to be priced and presented. It is a different conversation than selling in an established community.
Our Track Record
Homes We’ve Sold In Lanark Landing.
Lanark Landing is new, and so is our record here. We are not going to pad it.
The full map of what we have sold lives here: more than five hundred homes since 2017, most of them in the established communities either side of this one. The rest of the city is in our Airdrie guide, and neighbouring Kings Heights is where we have sold most often nearby.
Good To Know
Lanark Landing Questions.
Where is Lanark Landing in Airdrie?
The southeast corner of Airdrie, adjacent to Kings Heights and Ravenswood, with direct access to the QEII. It is the closest part of Airdrie to Calgary: roughly ten minutes to the city limits on a clear run, and around twenty five minutes to downtown depending on traffic.
Is it called Lanark or Lanark Landing?
The community’s name is Lanark Landing, developed by Melcor and named after Lanark in Scotland. You will see it shortened to Lanark on some listings and in casual conversation, so it is worth searching both ways.
What kinds of homes are in Lanark Landing?
Front attached and laned single family homes, duplexes and townhomes, built by a selected group including Homes by Avi, Sterling, Jayman and McKee. Architectural controls keep the streetscape consistent: prairie, farmhouse and brownstone styles with modern detailing.
What amenities does Lanark Landing have?
Airdrie’s first bike pump track, an outdoor skating rink, a one acre park with a playground and basketball court, a community garden, and pathways connecting through to the storm pond wetland. Kingsview Market is the nearest shopping, and Genesis Place Recreation Centre is about five minutes north.
Do I need my own REALTOR® to buy a new build here?
You are not required to have one, but the builder’s sales staff represent the builder rather than you. Bringing your own representation costs you nothing, and in most cases you need to do it on your first visit to the show home, before you register. Ask us before you tour if you are unsure.
Is Lanark Landing finished being built?
No. The first phase broke ground in 2019 on a hundred and sixty acres, with roughly a ten year build out, and further phases have continued releasing since. Expect ongoing construction, and check what is approved on the land around any lot you are considering rather than what is merely planned.
