The short answer. Spook the Coop 2026 is a community Halloween scavenger hunt in Coopers Crossing, Airdrie, on Saturday 24 October 2026, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. It starts and ends at the Coopers Crossing Residents Association tent in front of Coopers Crossing School. Costumes are encouraged and it is fun for all ages.
We are hosting Spook the Coop alongside the Coopers Crossing Residents Association, and we would love to see you there. Here is everything you need to know before the day.
01. How The Hunt Works.
Participating homes throughout the community will be decked out for Halloween, and each one has a secret code for you to discover. At every stop you will find a code key showing which letter matches each number. For example, 6 = L.
Visit the participating homes, collect the numbers you need, and use your code key to crack the mystery phrase. Once you think you have it, head back to the tent at Coopers Crossing School and hand in your answer.
While you are out there, cast your vote for your favourite decorated home.
02. What You Can Win.
Solve the mystery phrase and you are entered for a chance to win one of five $25 Dairy Queen gift cards.
The top three decorated homes win prizes too, with a special trophy for first place and, of course, bragging rights for the best Halloween haunt in the Coop.
03. Stick Around After The Hunt.
Once you are back from exploring the neighbourhood, there is more to do:
• Food trucks, with treats available for purchase
• Local community supporters with giveaways, games and activities
• Family friendly Halloween activities
04. Rain, Snow Or Shine.
Spook the Coop is happening whatever the weather does, so dress for it and come prepared to explore.
The hunt covers a good portion of the community. If you have little ones, bring a wagon or a stroller, or hop in the car between stops.
05. Enter Your Home In The Decorating Contest.
Think your house has what it takes to Spook the Coop? We are looking for the most creative, spooky, fun and downright terrifying Halloween displays in Coopers Crossing.
Register your home and it becomes an official stop on this year’s scavenger hunt. Go all out spooky, family friendly, creepy and creative, or somewhere in between.
To register, email one photo of your decorated home and your address to info@cooperscrossingresidents.com by Sunday 18 October 2026. Spots are limited, so register early.
Voting takes place on the day of the event and continues online for the week following. Winners are announced on 1 November.
