A Reminder I Needed This Month

Tara Molina

There are moments in life that catch us off guard.

Not because they’re big or dramatic, but because they quietly challenge how we see ourselves.

May was one of those months for me.

Early in the month, I read a review that stung more than I’d like to admit.

If you’ve ever poured your heart into something — your work, your family, a relationship, or a project you’ve cared deeply about — you probably know the feeling. One difficult piece of feedback can suddenly feel louder than a hundred positive experiences.

What surprised me most wasn’t the review itself.

It was how quickly I allowed it to overshadow everything else.

The kind words. The successful transactions. The relationships. The trust people place in me every day. The countless conversations, celebrations, and moments that remind me why I love what I do.

For a brief moment, I let one voice become louder than all the others.

“This month reminded me that we aren’t meant to carry everything ourselves.”

Then life gave me the reminder I needed.

Behind Every Move Is A Human Story

This month, I had the privilege of helping a wonderful family navigate the sale of their home and the purchase of their next one.

We first met back in 2018 at an open house and stayed connected ever since.

Their move wasn’t simply about buying and selling real estate.

It was about family. Change. New beginnings. Managing timelines. Packing boxes. Coordinating details. Helping adult children transition into a new chapter. Trying to make sure everything was perfect for everyone involved.

Client and lifestyle moment

Moments that remind me why I love what I do.

And like so many people experiencing a major life transition, eventually the emotions caught up.

There were tears.

Not because anything had gone wrong.

Not because anyone was upset.

Simply because carrying so much for so many people can become overwhelming.

We sat. We talked. I listened.

And in that moment, I was reminded that some of the most important things we do for one another have nothing to do with contracts, negotiations, or checklists.

Sometimes people don’t need solutions.

Sometimes they simply need someone willing to sit beside them and remind them they’re not alone.

Trust Is Built In The Small Moments

One of the things I value most about the relationships I build with clients is trust.

Not the kind of trust that’s built through advertising or promises.

The kind that’s built through conversations, consistency, honesty, and showing up when people need you most.

That family reminded me that the most meaningful relationships are reciprocal.

They’re built on mutual respect, trust, and integrity.

And they reminded me that the people who truly know your heart often see you more clearly than you see yourself.

From My Camera Roll

A few moments from May that made me smile. Not the big milestones. Not the perfectly planned moments. Just the everyday reminders of why I love what I do, where I live, and the people I get to share it with.

We Aren’t Meant To Carry Everything Ourselves

As I reflected on the month, I realized there was a common thread connecting both experiences.

The review. My clients. The emotions. The overwhelm. The expectations. The pressure.

It all came back to one simple realization:

We aren’t meant to carry everything ourselves.

Sometimes we need perspective.

Sometimes we need support.

Sometimes we need someone to remind us who we are when we’ve temporarily forgotten.

I suspect many of us are carrying more than people realize.

Something I’m Loving Right Now

One of my favourite ways to reset lately has been my morning walks through Riverside Park in Altadore with my dogs.

No agenda. No meetings. No notifications.

Just fresh air, movement, and space to think. It’s become one of the places where I can slow down enough to hear my own thoughts again.

Riverside Park Walk

My favourite place to reset, recharge, and gain perspective.

Before I Go…

If this month taught me anything, it’s that we aren’t meant to carry everything ourselves.

Life has a way of convincing us we need to have all the answers, keep all the plates spinning, and shoulder every responsibility on our own.

The truth is, some of life’s most meaningful moments happen when we allow others to support us.

If you’re carrying a lot right now, I hope you know you don’t have to do it alone.

Thank you for spending a few minutes with me today.

Until next month,

— Tara
